Well I've taken care of my fanart quota for December! Night folks.

Comics from life and monsters are in Samson's room.

I get bored taking notes in history. These are some little comics from the moleskine about my life, people around me, etc. The second one is my grandmother. I think her cat has mind-control powers.

And these are two illustrations from a 4-piece project I did in Children's Imagery.

Washington Book Festival

Last weekend I got the opportunity to visit The National Book Festival in Washington D.C. I'd never been before so this was pretty exciting. :3 I went with friends (one of whom got their awesome dad to drive us there, much love to you your dad Abby!) so I had a really good time.

Probably the most exciting part of the festival was seeing Neil Gaiman speak (w00t). We were all excited. (Though none moreso than Abby.) We also bought a copy of his new book - "The Graveyard Book." We're splitting it between us because it was the last copy left. I was disappointed with the amount of books at the book festival. There weren't as many as I had imagined and the book tent was cramped. Now Neil was great but the most exciting celebrity that happened to be at the book festival was.....the TARGET DOG!

(PS: Watching the Vice Presidential Debate is killing me so here is a mildly amusing picture of tiny Batman getting bitch-slapped from some old comics my dad sent me.)

Sketches after a zillion month absence

Holy God. After trying to upload anything for months I have finally gotten the time and energy to do so. He are some sketches from a little book I made over the summer. Nothing serious. (Except for Pelonius. Watch out for him. Seriously.)

So the scanner is working but my home connection is so slow that I'm unable to upload images. The local library's computers have been so retarded by whoever maintains them that there is no way to take a photo from an external device and put it onto the computer or internet. Hooray for public terminals.

radish goblin

Scanning still eludes me. At work in between digging in the dirt and throwing dead snakes into the back of pickup trucks I'm doing graphic design work. I'll upload that somewhere later. For now, here is a red-headed radish loving goblin of some sort.

more open canvas + insomnia

Sleep is for losers.

UFM - Unidentified Flying Monsters?

Umm...I don't really know. Hopefully I can do some scanning tomorrow.

Nature Photos

I haven't uploaded any new work because I don't have the software for my scanner and without it the closest scanner is the public library. And I am terribly lazy and don't want to drive all the way there to scan some crappy art.

So I'm uploading some photos I took today on a walk. The weather here has been a decent temperature but it keeps raining which means I can't do any woodworking. :/ There fore I went looking for stuff with interesting textures that I could take photos of. I also took a few photos just to show how nice Bland is in early spring. (I swear it's awesome, the photos aren't that great but my shitty camera and lack of photography skills are all I had to work with.)

+++ = Columbine, box turtle
--- = uploading photos on dial-up connection
??? = Cedar fungus

Okay, so everybody has got a Moleskine and is drawing in them like madmen, so here's some life drawings from my little notebook. They'll get better with time. :|

I have to have 400 drawings by next week. Poop.

Okay, so I know that nobody is reading this blog yet but just to let you know on Friday the 18th of this month I'm getting some artists together and we're painting my shitty wagon!

Anybody who is loosely affiliated with VCU is welcome to come and paint on the car. Just remember that I have to drive it when I go back home. (So no painting on the glass AND NO PENISES! D:<) The event will be at one of the $3 Main Street Parking places, very close to Crossroads Cafe and Cuppa Tea Co. Bringing art supplies is a good idea seeing as I don't think I'll have enough for everyone.
